Advanced Technology and Great People Create Modern Roofs
Family-owned and run Admiral Roofing is the company commercial and institutional contractors turn to for flat roofing and wall systems built to ensure whatever the northern climate can dish out. Alex Goldie and his wife Beth own the company while their three sons (Scott, Blake and Dallas) are an integral part of ensuring the business is the best it can be.
A little over a year ago the company moved into a new 7,000 square foot building to accommodate the growing needs for the technology the metal shop requires.
“We are technologically advanced,” Alex says of why their company has been selected for premium jobs like the new Inland Kenworth building, the RCMP detachment, Prince George Toyota and the Wood Innovation and Design Centre to name just a few. “The contractors and customers like working with us, they like how we do things and they like the equipment we’ve got.”
Focused on commercial and industrial roofing and wall systems the company has state-of–the-art equipment that has them taking jobs in other communities because they can handle the complexity of advanced designs other firms can’t.

Customers of Admiral Roofing also like the customer service they receive that goes above and beyond the expected.
“They see the professionalism we have and our customers are glad to be dealing with us,” Alex says. “We also treat our customers like professionals. We work together to get the job done.”
Alex and Beth’s oldest son Scott takes care of the behind the scenes work of estimating, running the office, handling IT issues and ensuring all the paperwork like safety plans are in place.
Dallas is a roofing foreman and supervisor, while Blake runs the metal division of the company in the new shop. This family works together, but also knows how to treat their approximately 30 employees like family.
Although Alex grew up in small town Saskatchewan on a farm, Prince George is his home now and he and the family enjoy supporting a range of local activities.
“Every year we try to pick something,” he says of the charitable work Admiral Roofing is involved in. “We have also donated roofing for the railway and forestry museum, Exploration Place, the Shelter at UNBC and Cottonwood Park which were Rotary projects.”
Admiral Roofing was a major supporter of the Canada Winter Gamers held in Prince George in 2015, annual supports Operation Rednose, while also supporting local hockey and soccer teams and 4-H.
To stay ahead of the curve and help other roofing companies do the same, Admiral Roofing is a member of the Roofing Contractors Association of B.C. Alex has served on the board of the association for five years, this year as past president. Alex is also on the Canadian Roofing Contractors Association’s national technical committee.
